Acute Injury Partnership
The What?
A partnership between an organized sports team or performing art group aimed to provide expedited access to health care professionals to quickly and accurately diagnose an injury within a 48hr time frame. Then provide continued injury updates to the coaches and team staff to further coordinate the best care for athletes.
The How
High Priority Acute Injury Assessment:
Initial assessment taking place within 24 - 48hrs of contacting the clinic completed by Dr. Sherren.
A focused and detailed assessment:
A modern approach combining an in-depth history and detailed biomechanical assessments to accurately diagnose an athlete/performer’s injury or biomechanical restriction.
Collaborative Communication:
A concise initial consultation report within 24 - 48 hours
Ongoing athlete updates to coaches as requested (*based on the athlete’s/ parent’s written consent).
Collaborative treatment planning to support effective and efficient return to on field play for athletes with the athlete's overall best interest in mind.
Treatment Methods:
Treatment plans are tailored and focused to return the athlete to the field to play as quickly and effectively as possible. Treatment is based on Athlete preferences and diagnoses, incorporating targeted soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, anatomical acupuncture, IMS dry needling, manual/ instrument assessed adjustments and return to play exercise rehab.
The Questions.

No there is no cost to the team or program.

Athletes are not required to engage with our team for assessment or treatment, but we can not provide continued communication if we do not work with the athlete.

Dr. Sherren will complete the Acute Injury Assessment and communication reports.

No. Communication requires consent, if an athlete/performer or their parents/guardians do not provide collaborative communication consent then there will be no communication with team staff/coaches.
